We made this list based on our own opinion, research, and customer reviews. We’ve considered their quality, features, and values when narrowing down the best choices possible. If you want more information and updated pricing on the products mentioned.

5. Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX502

Best Gaming Laptop 2020 (4K & 144Hz+)Asus gets it nearly all right with the ROG Zephyrus S GX502. It's an impressively slim gaming laptop that offers excellent performance for the price. The G-Sync screen's 240 Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time are top-notch for gaming.

This ultra-slim device is expertly equipped for serious gaming and work. It is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with the latest 9th Generation Intel Core i7 and full-strength Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics for realistic-looking images. It features 16 gigabytes of RAM and 1 terabyte hard drive that will surely give you a lag-free gaming experience.

The GX502 uses ProArt TruColor Technology. Its Pantone-validated palette across the full sRGB color space is exceptional for playing games, media, and professional projects with its stunning graphic quality. This gaming laptop comes with complete connectivity. It offers all the necessary ports for gaming and works on-the-go. You don’t need to buy special USB port adapters for this device.

The pros are:

Comfort. The GX502 offers fan blades that are 33% thinner than conventional designs. Its airflow rises at 17 percent at 83 blades per fan. With this intelligent design, overheating is not an issue;

Its intelligent design. Dust build-up is one of the common problems for laptops in general, but not with this device. It has anti-dust tunnels to prevent the build-up on key components to boost cooling efficiency and performance.

However, the con is:

Its weight. Like most gaming laptops, this machine offers a rigid magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis which is expected to weigh more than usual gaming laptops.

But, with its elegant design, its extra weight is hardly noticeable.

4. Acer Predator Helios 300

Best Gaming Laptop 2020 (4K & 144Hz+)Excellent gaming performance at the push of a button. With its overclockable graphics chip and 144Hz display, the Helios 300 is built for a great gaming experience -- all at a reasonable price.

Acer's Predator Helios 300 has power to spare for gamers on a budget. Armed with NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics, 9th Generation Intel Core i7 Processors, and their custom-engineered 4th Generation AeroBlade 3D Technology, this device surely makes its presence known in the gaming world.

Like all predator laptops, it is made with a customized cooling technology that increases airflow – maximizing every gaming performance. The Predator Helios 300 offers a 4-zone RGB-customized keyboard. It features a well-lit customized keyboard with see-through concave-shaped keycaps for letters W, A, S, and D and two integral keys: Turbo and PredatorSense. It also uses the Waves Nx 3D Sound. It can turn any pair of headphones into a high-end 360-degree surround sound system giving you a real-world 3D sound.

The pros are:

Versatility. You have the option to enhance your viewing experience by hooking up a few extra displays via the ports through HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. It will give you more displays to play around with;

Comfort: It is common to have loud-sounding fans on laptops made for gamers, but not with the Predator Helios 300. The top and bottom fan edges have winglets and a curved fin that lessens the noise production.

However, it has battery issues. High performance comes with a great price for this device such as reduced battery life. Even with a five-pound weight, working far from an outlet is not advisable for long periods.

3. HP Omen X2S

Best Gaming Laptop 2020 (4K & 144Hz+)Clearly, the Omen X2S is a solid performer, but it also proves HP is getting better at making attractive gaming laptops. It's only 20 millimeters thick and weighs 5.2 pounds. That's heavier than some of the competition, which are closer to 4.5 pounds, but it's still pretty portable.

This device features a revolutionary dual-screen design with hyper-realistic graphics perfect for basic multitasking. Omen X2S comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, and 16 gigabytes of RAM.

Its aluminum hood sports an hourglass-like design which can surely catch everyone’s attention. It is equipped with a dual-screen panel. This installment is what makes this device unique, among other gaming laptops. It is a touch-screen panel on the deck that acts as a completely separate display that you can use for anything. It also comes with a forward-facing RGB-lit keyboard that is clicky and offers decent travel.

The pros are:

Perfect for multitasking. The ability to multitask is effortless with the Omen X2S’ built-in secondary screen. You can chat with your friends while playing games;

Convenience. This laptop offers a decent number of ports that you can use for other work functions.

However, if you need to use this device continuously, be prepared because it can become hot. You might consider buying a cooling pad for a more comfortable experience.

2. Dell Alienware Area 51M

Best Gaming Laptop 2020 (4K & 144Hz+)With an elegant design and upgradeable graphics, this device is ready to take on the competition. It is a 17.3-inch gaming laptop equipped with 9th Generation Intel Core i9 with 32 gigabytes of RAM. It also has a 1512-gigabyte hard drive crafted for extraordinary hassle-free gaming performance.

You can bring all the peripherals that you have with all the ports available on this device. It is equipped with front-firing speakers. Its pair of speakers is perfect for an immersive audio experience.

The Sound Recall feature is ideal for the competitive gamers out there as it gives you a visual cue when enemies try to creep up on you. Moreover, Alienware is known for their comfortable keyboards and they did not disappoint on this one. By having firm feedback and providing sheer comfort, playing for extended periods on the Alienware is not an issue.

The pros are:

Performance. We can compare the performance of this laptop to a desktop computer. Its specs, crunching numbers, and encoding videos are a piece of cake;

Upgradability. The Alienware Area 51M lets you swap out the processor units so that you can personalize your device according to your preference.

However, it has a shorter battery life as compared to other premium laptops. Packing an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 graphics chip and a desktop-class Intel Core i9, Alienware's massively rejiggered flagship, the Area-51m, is still one of the best-performing gaming laptop on the market today.

1. Razer Blade 15

Best Gaming Laptop 2020 (4K & 144Hz+)Known as the world’s smallest gaming laptop, this device creates the perfect balance between power and portability. It may be small, but it offers lots of features with an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 6-Core processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q graphics.

The Razer Blade 15 has a large clickable glass touchpad which comes with a Microsoft precision touchpad offering accurate control. It also has an advanced control system. One of the best things about Razer gaming laptops is that they’re set up with no extra bloatware or third-party software.

There are no McAfee or eBay apps loading upon boot here. Of course, there’s always Synapse, Razer’s intuitive system for personalizing its Chroma RGB lighting across the laptop, which in this case, only covers the keyboard. Customizing lighting to improve performance is not a problem with Razer Synapse 3 that gives you full control over your preferences.

The pros are:

Convenience. Even with its small size, it still has all the ports you need for a gaming laptop;

Zero Bloatware. When you purchase this device, you do not have to worry about junk software because you only get the applications that you need.

However, it is expensive. The Razer Blade may be egregiously priced, but Razer fitted much more value into its high-power gaming laptop than ever before. If you do end up spending the money required, you'll be taking comfort in the fact that you're taking home the whole gaming laptop package.

And that’s it for our top five gaming laptops.
