Some damaged QB program files can be repaired by renaming them and scanning them in the QuickBooks Database Server Manager. It helps to recreate the files, and issues with the DBSM can be fixed. Follow the steps given below to resolve the issue-

  1. Go to the folder containing your QuickBooks files.
  2. Search for files with the identical name as the data file but with extensions .tlg and .nd.
  3. Right-click on the file and select Rename.
  4. Add ‘.old’ at the end of the file name.
  5. Do this for the other file, too and save it.
  6. Now, type ‘Database’ in the search panel and open QuickBooks Database Server Manager.
  7. Click on the Scan Folders
  8. Tap Browseand select the files has your QuickBooks files.
  9. Click Okto start.

Retry opening your company file in QuickBooks and if the issue persists, try the next method.

Solution 2- Update QuickBooks Desktop

An outdated version of QuickBooks can lead to this issue while opening your company file. It would be best to keep your QuickBooks updated to prevent these issues. Follow the steps given below-

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop on your PC and click on

  3. Reopen QuickBooks and click Yes when prompted by the software.
