Apple has presented details about some of the exciting new features coming to AirPods during the ongoing WWDC 2021 keynote. Conversation boost will be added to the popular TWS earbuds soon, which will improve the listening experience for persons with minor hearing impairment. The company will also release a feature that will allow you to easily locate misplaced AirPods using your iPhone's Find My app.
Conversation boost, which will be available soon, will combine computation audio and beamforming to assist persons with mild hearing loss. It will automatically improve the listening experience and will be able to reduce background noise.
Announced notifications with Siri will also be supported by AirPods, allowing Apple's voice assistant to read out important notifications based on predefined parameters. For example, you can set the function to play your alerts when you arrive at a specific area. The feature will take into account the new DND mode and Focus mode, so if you have these options activated, you will not be disturbed.
If you lose your AirPods frequently, you'll be delighted to know that you'll soon be able to track them down using the Find My app on your iPhone. You may use the app to play a sound alert through your AirPods to assist you to locate them fast. It will also have a new proximity view that will notify you when you get close to your misplaced AirPods. Separation alerts may now be enabled in the Find My app, so you'll be informed if you leave your AirPods behind.
Finally, Apple has announced that the Spatial audio function of the AirPods will be supported on tvOS in the upcoming weeks. Dynamic head tracking will be included. On devices using Apple's M1 processor, the capability will also be available on macOS.
