The Ukrainians started the game well and raced to a 19-14 lead. They even took the second half and scored 41 points compared to Iceland’s 36. Iceland hit back in the third quarter and took the lead with the scoreboard reading 63-55 in their favour. Ukraine had plans of their own and hit back in the fourth quarter and drew the game 80-80. In overtime, the Icelanders took the initiative and won the game 91-88.
On the other hand, Great Britain comes into this game on the back of an 87-80 loss to Latvia. Latvia took control of the game early on and took a lead of 24-16 at the end of the first quarter. Britain hit back in the second quarter and drew the scores 38-38. Iceland took a slender lead at the end of the third quarter with the scoreboard reading 64-60. The fourth quarter was a bit to and fro and the game ended with 87-80 in favour of Latvia.
