There are instances when you may encounter issues with data synchronization between QuickBooks Desktop and Method. These problems can arise from slight or significant corruption within your QuickBooks file. To address these issues, it is advisable to utilize the QuickBooks Utilities to Verify and Rebuild your data.

Situations where this approach could be beneficial include:

  • The Sync Engine is experiencing a stall with a particular table.
  • The Sync Engine's syncing process is slower than normal.
  • QuickBooks is frequently crashing or freezing.

Steps for Validating Your Company's File Data

Before reconstructing your company file, employ the verify tool in QuickBooks Desktop to check for any errors or data damage in your file.

  1. Click on the "File" menu and then choose "Utilities."
  2. Click on "Verify Data," then click "OK" to close any open windows. If a message stating "Your data has failed the integrity check" appears, you will need to rebuild your file. If no issues are detected with your data, no further action is required.

How to Restore Your Company's File Data

After confirming the accuracy of your data, you can reconstruct your company file to address any detected errors or corruption.

  1. Go to the File menu and choose Utilities.
  2. Choose Rebuild Data, then click OK to close all open windows.
