What defines a good leader? To put it simply, good leaders are individuals who can inspire their teams, boost productivity, and aid their organisation in achieving its goals. Strong leadership is extremely important because the decisions made at the top can significantly impact entire populations.
A prime example of an effective leader is Tom Ruck, who is also considered one of the best American authors, speakers, and patriots of our time - and holds several national marketing and sales leadership positions that are primarily with nationwide financial and healthcare corporations.
Tom Ruck is a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 176 in Springfield, VA., and works as a Visiting Fellow to the Freedom Alliance Foundation in Dulles, VA. One of his most notable works include opening the very first Urban Initiative Columbarium in the United States for the National Cemetery Administration.
He also created and produced the Grand Opening Ceremony, which featured then Secretary of the Veterans Administration Robert Wilkie, Congressman Ted Lieu and Veteran Advocate and superstar Gary Sinise.
Furthemore, Tom Ruck has made many appearances in various events. A prime example can include being invited as a guest speaker at the 70th anniversary of D-Day in 2014 in Normandy, France. It was at this time and place where he honoured the men of the 82nd and 101st Airborne for their courageous efforts during a critical and important date that took place in our history.

They also allow others under them to be open to creativity and encourage them to explore new concepts and ideas that can be implemented - thus pulling people out of their comfort zones.
Educating Others
Teaching others is a fundamental component in healthcare and public health that helps one become a better leader. Great leaders have the responsibility to educate those who are following in their footsteps, passing their knowledge onto them on important issues while also raising their awareness on important matters being faced in the world.
Practising Humility
Leaders are not only able to recognize different points of view but they are also able to accept the base of their knowledge developed and the change in its direction accordingly.
In addition to that, great leaders are able to move past the stubbornness of sticking to what they know and move forward with innovative care and be able to say that their knowledge has changed and that they are beginning to think in new ways to make room for more knowledge that could potentially save millions of lives around the world.
