CMS Regulations To Reduce Administrative Burden On Physicians!
Being able to focus more on patient care than paperwork has long been the desiderata of the physicians. With new CMS regulations for reduced documentation requirements from physicians for their outpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) office visits, this need seems to be getting addressed gradually, starting from January 1st 2019 to over the next two to three years.

Coming along with the reduction in documentation requirements will also be the changes in the coding and payment methodologies, all of which is set to eventually cut down the administrative burden for the busy offices of the physicians, allowing them more time for health care needs of their patients. For instance, there may be several documentation policies that CMS is implementing in the upcoming year 2019 that should lessen the burden immediately.
