Visiting the casino is a top affair in many parts of the world, in which people love to get dressed up and get lost in the glitz and glamour of a night out. Whether it’s a lavish casino in Monte Carlo like the ones we see in the James Bond movies, or a more casual multi gaming complex in the city, a night out at the casino is something that most people enjoy making a big deal of.

While it’s fun to visit the casino, sometimes it can be difficult to organise a night out. That’s why it’s often convenient to play online casino games, like crazy time casino at crazy time casino. One of the great things about playing online is the freedom to play from anywhere, whether it be on a desert island on vacation, on the commute to work, or from the comfort of your sofa at home at 2am in the morning.

However, sometimes it’s important to be able to get dressed up and experience a night out. If you’re heading to the casino soon, it's important to be aware of some general casino decorum. However, there’s no need to stress as it’s really quite simple once you are aware of the simple rules to follow. Let’s take a look at some of these below.

What to wear to the casino

When it comes to casino dress codes, every casino can be different and some are stricter about what to wear than in others. In general, smart casual is ok to many casinos, especially in the day. However, if you’re going to a more upscale casino or are visiting in the evening then a suit is more likely expected as the norm.

Some general rules of thumb to abide by include:

  • Don’t wear flip flops

  • Avoid wearing sneakers

  • Don’t wear dirty clothes

  • Don’t wear casual in the evening (even at a resort setting)

  • Check the dress code online before going there

  • The more expensive or exclusive a casino, the nicer you should dress

Casual Wear

Of course, not all casinos require a fancy dress code and many allow a casual dress code. Many casinos are based on resorts in hot climates, meaning it wouldn’t be comfortable to wear a formal attire and shorts and a more casual linen shirt are much more appropriate. Such casinos are often located in the likes of Nevada where casinos are also attached to a hotel and a casual dress code is also more appropriate.

Leave the kids at home

While it may seem like an obvious one, many people have been seen pushing strollers with young children around the likes of Vegas as they want to experience the best of the casinos without leaving their kids behind.

However, casinos are an adult environment that do not offer a great deal of entertainment for children. In addition, the adult crowd in casinos often do not want to be distracted by young children when the stakes are high. It’s best to find a hotel that offers a babysitting service if you’re keen to still visit the casino with little ones in tow.

Tipping

While tipping is not mandatory, it is expected that if you are doing well at a game in the casino, you tip the dealer too. Keep in mind that dealers are often paid minimum wage, in which most of their earnings come from being tipped by customers. In addition, if you’re at a casino in North America, then it is even more important to tip adequately as tipping is a large part of North American culture.

Generally, it is expected that you tip 10% or more when playing at the casino. Keep in mind that most dealers must split the tip equally with other workers, so if you’re wanting to tip your favourite dealer more than usual, they may not be able to keep all of it. In addition, it’s important to also remember to tip the waiting staff a couple of dollars here and there when they bring food and drinks over to you.

As a side note, it is perfectly ok to tip using chips too when you are tipping the dealer.

Overall, there may seem like there is a lot to keep in mind when visiting a real life casino. It can also be pretty intimidating to remember all of the rules when you are visiting a particularly fancy casino. However, it’s important to keep in mind that at the end of the day, you are visiting to have fun. While you should concentrate on the games and not about what people there think of you, it’s also important to be respectful and courteous so that everyone has a good time.
