To accommodate a new generation of gamers, some changes have seemingly been made to ease beginners’ journeys in Diablo 4, with the game’s primary content admittedly being created in a more story-telling way.
However, if there’s one thing that remains the same for every Diablo game, which is also its appeal, it’s the amount of loot drops you’ll get from enemies, which can be quite overwhelming during the latter stages.
So, when you have tons of new gear to be compared to your existing one, how do you truly identify their effectiveness compared to yours?
Well, that’s where two (2) in-game settings come into play, making your experience a hundred times (100x) better!
These are:
- Advanced Tooltip Compare
- Advanced Tooltip Information
Both of these options offer a better way for you to understand an item’s true worth, like so:
Advanced Tooltip Compare
As its name suggests, you’ll get better information when comparing your current gear with a new one that you’ve just acquired.
For one, when you hover over a new item, be it a Rare weapon or Legendary armour piece, it’ll highlight the stats that you’ll either gain or lose, including any special passives.
This is extremely useful when you’re just starting out, because everything can be very intimidating when you have so many things to think about when comparing which gear to use on your character.
Advanced Tooltip Information
Every time you look at those beneficial stats on your gear, do you REALLY understand what they mean to your character?
By enabling this option, the game shares a better breakdown of each stat on a particular item, giving the minimum and maximum ranges that you’re getting from it when equipped.
This way, you’ll understand your potential damage values better, which also plays into synergising your gear with your current skills and powers.
With both of these in mind, do you know where to find them in-game?
To do so, you’ll need to:
- Pause the game, and select “Options”.
- Under the “Gameplay” tab, scroll to Advanced Tooltip Compare and Advanced Tooltip Information.
- Enable both boxes, and you’re all set!
These are just a few nifty additions that the developers have introduced into the game, apart from other ones, like a dodge/ dash skill which is available for every character regardless of class.
With Seasons on the way, and Expansions as well, there might be more quality-of-life improvements coming too.
One can only hope so, as the game continues to improve with time, with one major feature still missing: a map overlay, allowing you to view the entirely of a map without needing to manually open it everytime.
Still, the game released in a much better state than many would have expected, credited to the development team’s hard work and dedication.
