About the Error

QuickBooks works on Multi-user access mode, where many workstations are connected to a server computer. This can occur while switching on the multi-user mode, or any workstation cannot access the company file on the network. Every time you try to turn Multi-user access on, you’ll see error codes with a message, “Problem with the multi-user hosting setup.” Your software may crash or freeze due to this error.

Reasons

Some of the reasons probably responsible for triggering this error are-

·       The hosting settings of your QuickBooks are incorrect

·       Antivirus or firewall is blocking the connection between systems

·       The QuickBooks Database server manager is unable to access the company file

·       Folder permissions of the file are restricting QuickBooks from reading the file.

1.       Open the QuickBooks Tool hub and click on Network Issues.

2.       Select QuickBooks Database Server Manager, and install it if prompted.

3.       Now, select your Company file folder if it is mentioned in the list; otherwise, locate it manually and click Start Scan.

Reopen your QuickBooks and check if the error still exists; if it does, try another solution.
