An Aadhaar card serves as an address proof and identity proof when applying for various financial instruments such as credit cards, loans, fixed deposits, savings accounts, etc. You need to submit certain documents when applying for an Aadhaar card. Documents will also be required if you are already enrolled for Aadhaar but need to make certain changes to your existing details.
Under the Aadhaar Act, 2016, every resident can apply for an Aadhaar number. A resident is a person who has been living in the country for 182 days or more in the year immediately preceding the date of application for enrolment.
