Every sword in Minecraft requires one stick to craft, except for the Netherite sword. To craft the wooden sword, all you need is one stick and two planks made of wood. After you've built your smithing table the UI of it is easy to follow. Two boxes will be displayed when you right-click your table of smithing.
The box to the right depicts the outline of an ingot. This is the place where you are going to place your netherite ingot.
