HOW DO I SOLVE ERROR 15215?

Method 1: Restart your system

When you reboot your desktop, it forcefully closes all the applications running in the background-

  1. Click on the Windows icon in bottom right corner.

  2. Click the Power button.

  3. Select Restart.

If this does not help, please continue to the steps below.

Method 2: Run QuickBooks as Administrator.

This is a quick fix as it allows QuickBooks to alter the program and also to run above other applications-

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.

  2. Locate the software on your system and right-click over it.

  3. Click on Run as Administrator.

  4. Select Yes to continue.

 

Method 3: Review Internet Explorer settings

Here you need to make sure that the options Use TLS 1.0 is checked, and Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2 are unchecked-

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.

  2. Open Internet Explorer.

  3. Click Tools on the top left corner.

  4. Select Internet Options.

  5. Click on Advanced.

  6. Get to Settings and scroll down to the options Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2 options.

  7. Check Use TLS 1.0.

  8. Uncheck Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2.

  9. Hit OK and restart your desktop.

  10. Download the QuickBooks Desktop update.

 

Method 4: Relaunch Windows in Selective Start-up

Here you can choose which applications do you wish to run open at start-up-

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.

  2. Open Run on your computer-

•Windows XP: Click Start and select Run.

•Windows 7 / Vista: Click Start. Select. All Programs. Choose Accessories. Hit Run.

  1. Windows 8 / 10: Press Windows key+R.

  2. Type in “msconfig”.

  3. Hit OK.

  4. In the System Configuration Utility window, select Selective Start-up.

  5. Uncheck Load Start-up Items.

  6. Hit OK.

  7. Reboot your system.

  8. Download the QuickBooks Desktop update.

  9. If the update is successful, you can go back to Normal Start-up following the steps above and reboot.
