Google Pixel 9: New Details and Features

Google Pixel 9: New Details and Features
3 min read

Google has confirmed the upcoming release of its Pixel 9 smartphones, but there are still some secrets to be revealed about the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL, including their exact sizes. Alongside the latest specs leak, we have the best look yet at the colors chosen by Google for this year’s flagship smartphone release.

The colors for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are charcoal, porcelain, hazel, and rose. Notably absent is the rumored aloe color, which is likely a web-exclusive option and thus not appearing in the product shots available to retailers.

One interesting point about the case design is the sculpting around the camera island cut-out. It has a significant amount of curve to it, which may dilute the unique identity of the Pixel 9 family when the phone is placed in the case.

New details on the display’s design of the upcoming Pixel 9 family of smartphones have been revealed. This year, Google will release four models: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a sequel to last year’s Pixel Fold but will be adopted into the Pixel 9 line this year.

The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL will offer options for a 6.3-inch screen or a 6.8-inch screen. The Pixel 9 Pro XL will handle the larger and more powerful role, while the Pixel 9 Pro will be of a similar size to the Pixel 9 but with higher specifications.

Google will announce the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold at an event in Mountain View, California, next month. This is the first time that Google has launched a Pixel on its own campus, so we are expecting some big surprises. The Pixel Watch 3 and other hardware will also be announced.

A new ad for the Pixel 9 has leaked, showcasing a feature called 'Add Me.' This feature allows you to add someone to a group photo who wasn’t originally there by stitching together two images with the same background. Other features on display include Google’s Gemini assistant and upgrades to Magic Eraser, potentially letting you replace the background of a photo based on a prompt.

The 'Add Me' feature continues Google’s trend of innovative photo tools, similar to the Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur features introduced last year.
