Hitachi, Ltd. and Google Cloud have recently announced a long-term partnership with the goal of expediting enterprise innovation and efficiency through the utilization of generative AI. In line with this collaboration, Hitachi is set to establish a novel business division dedicated to tackling industry obstacles by harnessing Google Cloud's AI technologies, such as Gemini models and Vertex AI. Furthermore, Hitachi will incorporate Google Cloud's AI into its own array of products and services to enhance Lumada, Hitachi's primary digital business, and streamline operational processes within the Hitachi Group.
The forthcoming business unit, under the leadership of GlobalLogic—a prominent figure in digital engineering and a subsidiary of Hitachi—will be recognized as the Hitachi Google Cloud Business Unit. Concurrently, a Google Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) will be instituted to facilitate the swift expansion of Google Cloud technology to both current and prospective enterprise clients. The partnership will also encompass joint training initiatives, integrating Google Cloud's GenAI technology into Hitachi's GenAI Professional training program. This endeavor is designed to elevate the proficiency and managed services accessible, ensuring that large-scale organizations possess the essential tools to optimize their operations with AI.
This collaboration is an extension of a 15-year partnership between GlobalLogic and Google Cloud, with the shared objective of empowering enterprises with scalable and effective solutions. By leveraging Google Cloud's AI capabilities, Hitachi aims to enhance workforce productivity and foster innovation across a spectrum of industries, encompassing energy, mobility, manufacturing, and digital services.
Toshiaki Tokunaga, Executive Vice President and Executive Officer at Hitachi, underscored that the partnership will enable Hitachi to better cater to its clientele by integrating Google Cloud's GenAI solutions. Nitesh Banga, CEO of Hitachi's Digital Engineering Business Unit and President & CEO of GlobalLogic, emphasized the strategic alignment and collaborative pathways being established.
