What is Driver Behaviour Analysis?

  • Engine Idling: Keeping the engine on while the vehicle is stationary is wasteful as the automobile consumes fuel without any output.
  • Overspeeding: Forcing the engine to move faster than its design puts the engine under pressure, forcing it to consume more fuel than in its state of equilibrium. It can also be fatal to road safety as it becomes difficult to control a fast-moving vehicle.
  • Harsh Braking: The sudden stopping of a vehicle raises the chance of accidents and also causes harm to the tyres. It consumes more fuel than is optimal.
  • Accelerating: Abrupt movement of the car from a state of rest causes the engine and tyres of the vehicle to wear out and thus, adds to the maintenance cost of the fleet.
  • Harsh Cornering: Turning the car without slowing down increases the chances of an accident. The vehicle can crash into the corner or another vehicle coming the other way.

Integrating driver behaviour with the fleet management system.

  • Reducing fuel consumption — Average fuel consumption of the fleet goes down significantly. This is because efforts are made to minimise driving habits that increase fuel consumption.
  • Consignment Safety — When safe driving practices are adopted regularly, fragile consignment transportation becomes safer. Thus, it cuts down on the losses.
  • Road Safety — Road safety is one of the biggest concerns of managers. With the use of fleet management software, drivers tend to take note of their road habits and aim to reduce the chances of accidents.
  • Better vehicle maintenance — Reduced bad driving practices mean fewer body parts replacements and increased vehicle life. The engine works in its optimal state for a longer time.
  • Reduced cost — Driver behaviour solutions help fleet owners save fuel regularly and reduce the maintenance required by their vehicles. This reduces their cost and increases profit.
  • Eco-driving — By encouraging drivers to adopt fuel-efficient driving methods, fleet owners can achieve a sustainable fleet business and reduce their carbon footprints.
  • Insightful Reports — Data collected by the software can be used to optimise the best way the fleet should be managed. It also helps in building trust towards the drivers.
