Mayweather took away Canelo's undefeated record

Canelo Alvarez suffered his first defeat as a professional on September 14, 2013 against Floyd Mayweather Jr. a painful loss from which the Mexican learned a lot.

The wound that "Money" opened did not heal quickly, in fact, Canelo's team sought a rematch, but in his words the American no longer wanted anything to do with the Mexican.

Jose "Chepo" Reynoso gave an interview to mediotiempo.com where he talked about the moments that followed in Alvarez's dressing room. Canelo's trainer confessed that there were tears after the painful defeat.

"And we pulled away, we hugged each other and you could say that we even cried, but apart from that it was not a big deal, we lost to a genius like Mayweather, and apart from that, as a discharge to our conscience, we lost, we didn't beat him, but nobody has ever beaten him. So it wasn't embarrassing, on the contrary; we said 'let's move forward, and there we are," he said.

After the fight with Mayweather, Canelo didn't know what it's like to lose again until 2022 when he lost to Dmitry Bivol. During that period Canelo managed to become a middleweight, super middleweight and semi-complete champion.

He also managed to consolidate himself as one of the best fighters in the world, in different years he was considered the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet. He became one of the highest paid athletes in the world and managed to establish himself as a brand. He has invested in real estate, gasoline, tequila and energy drinks.

Bivol's promoter on the fight against Artur Beterbiev: "This is becoming one of the biggest fights that can happen in boxing"
The two boxers are both semi-complete champions.

Dmitry Bivol's promoter Vadim Kornilov commented that the fight with Artur Beterviev would be the biggest fight that can happen in world boxing at the moment.

Bivol is currently the WBA champion, while Beterviev holds the WBO, IBF and WBC diadems, both are undefeated and have good knockout percentages, which predicts a great fight.

"This is becoming one of the biggest fights that can happen in boxing. They have cleaned out the division between the two of them and there is not many more intriguing matchups out there. Let's make it happen," Kornilov told Sports Illustrated.

Beterbiev defended his title against Anthony Yarde

After Beterbiev's victory the first name that jumped out for his next fight was Bivol's, but the Russian still hasn't decided what his next move will be; whether to give Canelo Alvarez a rematch or unify the belts against Beterbiev.

Bivol has changed his mind a lot, sometimes he says he will go against Canelo and others that he will face his countryman, because his goal is to dominate the semi-complete category.

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury: Who will step in if Fury bails?
This UFC fighter will be Tommy's replacement if for some reason he can't assist the fight

In the event that Tommy Fury is unable to compete on February 26 for any reason, UFC veteran Mike Perry will step in, according toJake Paul.

The YouTuber announced during the press conference he organized to publicize his fight with Tommy, "We have Mike Perry waiting. Mike Perry, hurry up! Yes, he is prepared to enter if Tommy withdraws."

Perry has a 14-8 record in mixed martial arts. He has dropped four of his previous five UFC fights. His employment with the business came to an end on April 10, 2021, the final time he appeared inside the Octagon.

His fight with Kenneth McNeil in March 2015 ended in a fourth-round knockout, therefore this won't be his boxing debut. At the Bare Knuckle Fight Championship, he has already competed in two matches and won both of them.

This fight has been in the works for several months. The match had to be called off both times because Fury's injuries prohibited him from competing the first time, and because of issues with his visa to enter the United States the second time.

Mike Perry would be the fourth MMA fighter to go against Jake Paul

Mike Perry would be the fourth mixed martial arts rival to face Jake Paul, since in the past he fought against Ben Askren, twice against Tyron Woodley and the last one was Anderson Silva.

"A part of me definitely doubts it," Jake Paul said about Tommy Fury showing up on February 26. "And he's scared and he's disgusting. And the fact that he didn't show up for the one-on-one that we were supposed to do, he sucks. The type is not necessarily profitable. But money is good for him, so he would be foolish."

Beterbiev vs Bivol: The fight that boxing is calling for... and that Canelo can 'freeze'
Beterbiev maintained his knockout record after beating Yarde

Boxing. Tyson Fury 'praises' Jake Paul saying he is a 'decent boxer'
Artur Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs) is the only world champion who has currently won all his fights by knockout. The Russian Hammer, fighting under the flag of Canada, defeated Anthony Yarde on Saturday to score another knockout and retain his WBO, WBC and IBF light heavyweight titles.

It was a fight that provided even more than expected and it's not that the Brit was a weak opponent - far from it - but few expected him to stand up to the champion for eight rounds as he did. The Londoner showed a lot of heart and landed several right hands that raised the level of the fight.

Beterbiev brought out his usual repertoire. He has a jab that is a hammer and he doesn't need the door to be opened for him to start throwing powerful combinations that always do damage. If he already manages to corner his opponent, as happened on several occasions, the punishment is even more severe. Beterbiev is one of those boxers who always tries to attack, even if it sometimes causes him to neglect his defense. It is part of the game and a gladiator like Yarde knew how to take advantage of it.

However, 'The Chechen Beast' knows that if he doesn't slow down, his opponent has to give in at some point. That's what has always happened and history repeated itself once again. In fact, it is surprising that at 37 years of age he is able to maintain that intensity.

Although he is not a fighter with the mobility of Bivol, he is quite quick when it comes to changing angles. He also knows how to step back whenever he is compromised.

At the moment, it looks like Beterbiev's next move, which is going to be promoted by Top Rank, will lead to a duel which could be one of the best fights in recent years. Beterbiev-Bivol would be a treat for the fans and would provide us with an undisputed light heavyweight champion.

From Top Rank, there is only one way according to Carl Moretti.

"We want the fight with Bivol as soon as possible. His manager has also told us that he wants it. It can only be prevented by the fact that Canelo has been promised a rematch," Moretti declared.

Bivol's own promoter, Andrey Ryabinkskiy, has also been in favor of the bout, but no doubt a possible fight with Canelo in September, at super middleweight, would change everything.

We are also talking about a showdown that would bring in several million dollars for Bivol - a difficult thing to give up - although it is not known now what Alvarez's intentions are.

Artur Beterbiev says he wants to fight Bivol next
"I want Bivol. Right now, it's everything. In that fight, we'll have four belts. It's really good fight, I think" he said

Artur Beterbiev underlined his desire to fight Dmitry Bivol to unify the four 175-pound championships. He also expressed the hope that soon they will be able to determine who is truly the best of the two.

After defeating Anthony Yarde at Wembley Arena, Beterbiev declared, "I want the next job, I want Bivol, it's the fight I want."

"In this fight we would have all four belts at stake and in the end we will not know until the day we fight, which of the two is better," he continued.

On January 28, in a challenging match against Yarde, Beterbiev successfully defended all three of his championships. The Englishman outperformed the Russian in numerous rounds and even connected with him, shaking his legs.

When the knockout occurred at Wembley, even Artur had a lower score on two of the three judges' scorecards. Nevertheless, Yarde was punished by a potent combination in the eighth round, and the corner made the call to end the contest.

Beterbiev improved his record to 19-0 with this victory, all of which came by way of knockout.

"Every fight is different," said the Russian-born boxer. "I am not going to say that I had a bad fight, but I think that if I did it again, I would look to do better. He was prepared for all the blows he gave me, but I think he has a good future ahead of him".

Beterbiev calls out Bivol

Despite Beterbiev's ambition, a confrontation with Bivol is currently far from certain. The WBC stated late last year that the victor of the fight must face Callum Smith in a mandatory defense.

For his part, Bivol has not yet decided what he will do in 2023, but he has stated that Artur Beterbiev is the opponent he wants. He and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez are already in discussions to hold the rematch in September.

Both Bivol and Beterbiev are still unbeaten, but the fact that they are both represented by a separate promoter makes the matchup more difficult. Bivol competes for Matchroom, while Beterbiev competes for Top Rank.

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury is official! Sunday Feb. 26, 2023 in Saudi Arabia
The third time was the charm for this two boxers, as they finally have a signed agreement.

After months and months of trash talk and insults coming back and forth between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury, in which on two separate occasions the fight was agreed but ultimately cancelled due to Fury stepping away from both, once due to injury and another one due to a visa problem in the United States.

Now the two will finally meet inside a ring in Saudi Arabia on Sunday February 26, 2023, on a $49.99 pay-per-view that will air on ESPN+, in a bout that will expose their undefeated records, as Paul has never lost in his six fights, while Fury is still to taste defeat.

Jake Paul made the official announcement on social media
Jake Paul took to social media to post the official announcement of the fight being official, adding that now Tommy Fury won't have any excuses as he'll have to enter the ring and it'll be just the two of them battling it out.

"Tommy has no excuses now...Baby's born. Money's massive. Immigration no issue.

Paul also expressed that he'll make good on Tommy Fury's dad and brother promise about retiring the boxer if he losses, making him change his last name in a bout celebrated in his own home turf, London.

"Tyson promises he & Papa will make Tommy retire from boxing & change his last name if he can't beat the YouTuber."

"Tmw I'm coming to London to look at all 3 Fury's in the eye & shake on that promise."
