Long-Delayed Minecraft Amiibo will Arrive In September - IGN

Nearly two years since Minecraft's Steve joined the DLC roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate His (and his female counterpart Alex's) amiibo will finally hit retail shelves on September 9.

Twitter was the platform where Nintendo announced the release date of Minecraft's amiibo. The post was accompanied by a brief video that showed fans a look at the final designs of the Steve and Alex amiibo. The designs are faithful to the original blocky designs.

While initially set for a release in spring 2022 of the amiibos, Alex Steve and Steve were delayed until 2022 due to delays in logistics and production.

Now that Minecraft's amiibo collection has finally got an official release date, Nintendo is also nearing the end of its Super Smash Bros. Minecraft servers Ultimate amiibo line. After Steve, the last characters left to the company to convert into amiibo versions are Sephiroth, Pyra and Mythra, Kazuya, and Sora the final character to be added to Smash Ultimate. However, it is not clear if Sora will be given an Amiibo.

Steve's appearance was reviewed as a DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and gave his gameplay a 7, calling his faithful portrayal of Steve "impressive" but also pointing out that some mechanics "can cause a lot of frustration."
