McGill University

McGill University is a public research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The university was founded by a charter issued by King George IV in 1821 and named after James McGill, a Scottish businessman who founded the University's predecessor, McGill University (or simply McGill College) in 1813; In 1885 it was renamed McGill University. McClellan's main campus is located on the slopes of Mount Royal in Montreal, and the second is located 30 kilometers (19 miles) west of the main campus in Saint-Anne-de-Bello. It has topped Maclean's annual Canadian university rankings for medical-doctoral universities for the past 16 years.
