Minecraft Finds Vein of Money, Reaches 15 million Sold On PC

1 min read

The original PC version of Minecraft recently crossed 15 million sales according to a tweet sent by the game's creator, Markus "Notch" Persson. In February the game was sold 14 million copies on PC. It also hit two other milestones across other platforms 12 million copies on Xbox 360, and 21 million for Pocket Edition on Android or iOS.

Minecraft first arrived in beta form in May 2009, long before the release of its full version in November 2011. HUNTER The developer Mojang recently launched its subscription-based Minecraft Realms service for hosting multiplayer worlds. It starts at $13 a month. It plans to launch a boxed retail version of the game on PS3 by May. The game sold one million digital copies within its first month on PSN. The forthcoming Xbox One version of Minecraft will allow players to transfer their saved worlds from Xbox 360, just like the versions for the above Sony systems. [Image: Mojang]
