Recognising its power as an educational tool, an unrestricted copy of the game is now being offered to every secondary school in Northern Ireland.
CultureTECH, a festival that takes place every year that celebrates the creative and technology industries and has secured funding from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure for more than 200 schools to get download codes. Each license is for MinecraftEdu which is a specific version of Minecraft that is specifically designed for use in classrooms. Although Minecraft is frequently played in schools, this is the first time the game has been distributed to a whole region. Now, does anyone else wish that they were a student back in the past?
