Minecraft Getting In-game Name Changes, Pocket Edition Sells 30 Million

Minecraft players will be able to alter their in-game name soon the developer studio Mojang has announced. Dhaka's Blog The process will begin on February 4th and is quite easy. Once the name-changing feature is implemented players can change their game names by accessing their account. Any name that isn't being used by another player will be available. However, players will need to wait 30 days before they can change it again.



You don't need to be concerned about someone taking your name. It takes about 37 days for a name that was previously used to become available to someone. If you were to change your name to "MinecraftMasta" then we would not be able to use MinecraftMasta before you could reclaim it. You aren't able to change your character or inventory status by changing your name. If someone blocks you and you are unable to override that block.



Mojang also announced that Minecraft: Pocket Edition has sold more than 30 million copies to date. Pocket Edition sold 21 million copies in April, and was extended to Windows Phone users in December.
