Trese Brothers have announced that their fantastic space exploration RPG Star Traders: Frontiers is receiving modding support, three years after the first release.

As what seems to be their most-loved PC release, Star Traders: Frontiers had ended up with a bit of a following and received a Very Positive overall score on Steam from over 2.5K players. They have released more than 250 updates over the years, some small and some big, adding many new features.
Andrew Trese, Creative Director and co-founder who announced the modding feature announcement. "Players' feedback has always been an invaluable source of information for us to draw on, and the game's momentum remains strong even after years of its launch. Mod support is an obvious expansion."
This is the plan they're going to go to use for the first time for modding:
1. All players will have access to an easy save-game editor that lets players personalize their game playthroughs. 2. Steam Workshop tools allow you to upload and download mods, as well as an additional moddable build. 3. Access and documentation for official support to the game database.
Cory Trese (Co-Founder and Technical Director) said, "We love the idea of mod support for our games." Star Traders has the playerbase and depth I believe it will have an agelessness that will make it worth the effort.
They will be making a private group later in the year for people who would like to join, so modders can get early access to their tools. Keep an eye on their Steam page for more details on when it will be available.
