More performance with Windows 11: You shouldn't listen to these Microsoft tips
Windows 11 users have complained about the poor gaming performance. The company now offers tips to improve the performance. However, it is better to avoid them, because they are at the expense of security - which Microsoft itself admits.
Windows 11: Microsoft gives dangerous gaming tips
The performance of games under Windows 11 is certainly expandable, as gamers have noticed already. Both the subjectively perceived performance and the clearly determined performance reduction via benchmarks are a cause for concern for many a gamer. Actually, it should be good news when Microsoft, as the manufacturer of Windows 11, compiles a series of performance tips.
However, gamers should not follow these tips, because the security of the system is limited. Microsoft also knows this and warns that following them "can leave the device vulnerable to threats". The company therefore leaves it up to the users to make their own decision. According to Microsoft, the tips should not be followed after playing the game (source: Microsoft).
In essence, the tips are about two security functions that are automatically activated in Windows 11 and require system resources accordingly. Among other things, the functions ensure that all drivers loaded by the operating system are trustworthy and have a correct signature. This should prevent attackers from introducing malicious code onto the system.
Windows 11: Tips makes system vulnerable
Disabling security features is explicitly not recommended. Even though Microsoft describes it as a way to increase the system's performance, security should always come first, even for gamers.
