It was a blast, in Colombia for an adventure that wasn't planned. Cali reminds me the city of San Diego. It was secure and Colombians were warm and welcoming. It is a bustling town full of culture and art. Furthermore, it's the perfect destination to spend some time learning and teaching Spanish. However, I used to have a good grasp of the language, but was unable to maintain it over time. In the meantime, studying Spanish and Salsa could be just what I'm looking for.

There are several places to discover and learn more about this place. So, if you’re visiting and taking flights to Cali, then take a stroll of the entire city and find out what’s hidden in those tiny bustling streets. Also, book your tickets with Lowest Flight Fare to avail impressive deals.

Things to do in Cali, Colombia:

  1. Hotel Obelisk located in Cali is famous for its empanadas. The restaurant is located within the hotel.
  2. Take a look at Iglesia La Ermita for its stunning architecture and its rich heritage. Its Gothic style is reminiscent of that of the Cathedral in Cologne, located in Germany. Inside, you'll find an altar dedicated to the Lord of, Canawhich is the sole left from the 1787 earthquake that destroyed the church. Iglesia La Ermita has brimming with new and old style, with detailed details.
  3. Don't forget the cats. Gato de Tejada includes bronze statues that weigh over 3 tons.
  4. Cristo Rey (the 10th most massive Christ sculpture in the entire world) It was the first opportunity to visit one of the numerous statues of Christ all over the world. The climb up the hill was worth it (if you're disabled, you can take a ride up). The statue was built in commemoration of the ending of the War of a Thousand Days.
  5. Iglesia de San Antonio was built in 1747. Its interior has the original features dating back to centuries. The church was greeted inside by a lovely lady who was praying for us. Women come here to pray for their Statue of St. Anthony, who is believed to bring husbands to women. There's a convent of nuns in the church, who entered it at the age of 18 years of age and have not been ever seen since. The church's workers aren't permitted to view the nuns. The church is located on a hill that kids were slid down using eggs in containers (watch below). It reminded me of the things we did as children in the hills between Oakland as well as San Francisco. The view across Cali from this hill is breathtaking.

Take some time to explore the splendid attractions of this place, and make your trip worthwhile. While booking your flights from Belize City to Cartagena, don’t just fool around restaurants and tall buildings. Instead, take a good note of what’s under the table.
