OnePlus is developing an item tracker called OnePlus Tag to compete with AirTag and SmartTag

We've seen various tech titans, like Samsung and Apple, jump on the bandwagon, citing the popularity of Bluetooth-based trackers in the market. They released their own item-tracking devices earlier this year, called Galaxy SmartTag and AirTag, respectively. According to a recent patent filing, OnePlus is planning to release its own Bluetooth-based item tracking device, named OnePlus Tag.

According to recent sources, OnePlus has filed a patent application that cites the OnePlus Tag as well as other OnePlus goods. Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings), a tipster, recently sent forth a tweet with an image suggesting the OnePlus Tag. Take a look at the tweet below.

According to the patent listing (picture below), OnePlus registered the product on May 18, 2021, indicating that the brand has only recently begun development on the product.

OnePlus is developing an item tracker called OnePlus Tag to compete with AirTag and SmartTag.

OnePlus Tag is expected to compete with AirTag and its equivalents, despite the fact that the patent does not reveal much about the device. If that's the case, the device will have similar characteristics as Apple's AirTag and Samsung's SmartTag.

There is no information on the pricing, release date, or other features at this time. As the firm prepares to introduce the Nord CE 5G in the next few days, OnePlus has yet to make any announcements or releases that mention the OnePlus Tag.

The patent application, on the other hand, suggests that OnePlus may release the gadget sooner rather than later to compete with its rivals. Furthermore, because the Bluetooth-based tracking device market is still in its infancy, the company might potentially outperform its competitors if it prices the product correctly.
