Google is working on a tablet for the Pixel lineup. However, the manufacturer has not revealed anything yet: There will also be a Pro version. Hints in the Android code do not really allow any other conclusion. The processor of the Pixel 7 (Pro) could be used in the "Pixel Tablet Pro".
Google: Hints of a Pro version of the Pixel tablet
When Google already talked unusually openly about the next generation of Pixel phones at the I/O conference in May, it also gave a first glimpse at further hardware. Besides the Pixel Watch, the Pixel Tablet caused quite a stir. Although Google did not comment on the tablet in the further course, interesting news has been discovered in the code of the new Android beta.
The first Pixel tablet is internally called "Tangor" or "T6". Furthermore, the Android code now mentions a "Tangor Pro" or "T6 Pro" (source: Kuba Wojciechowski on Twitter). Accordingly, it can be assumed that there will not be just one tablet and that a "Pixel Tablet Pro" will be launched as well.
According to earlier leaks, the standard version of the tablet will use the Tensor processor developed by Google, which can also already be found in the Pixel 6 phone series. Since Google has already confirmed the existence of a Tensor 2, this processor could be used in the "Pixel Tablet Pro". However, this is only a rumor at this point.
Pixel: Google's tablet for the smart home?
According to unconfirmed reports, Google could design its tablet primarily for the smart home, possibly as a smart display. There is also still uncertainty about the market launch. In May, it said that it "intends" to release the tablet in 2023.

Google has invited to an event on October 6, 2022, where the Pixel 7 (Pro) and the Pixel Watch will be the focus first. Perhaps there will be more information about the tablet then.
