An introduction

In its collection of your information, Facebook uses two primary methods: the first, information it gets from websites and apps you authorize it to access, and the second, information it gets from third parties, such as marketing firms and ad networks.

Generally, Facebook uses this information to show you more relevant ads.

As a result of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, \ has released a new tool called Clear History.

 Clearing OFF-Facebook Activity History

Facebook's Clear History tool allows you to see where Facebook gathers your data from outside of Facebook and disassociate yourself from it.

Facebook's Clear History tool does not remove the data associated with your off-Facebook activity, but only removes the association between your account and that data.

  4. Then tap "Settings.". The Settings screen appears.

  6. When you choose "Clear History," you will be informed that your off-Facebook activity won't be deleted, but rather disconnected from your account, and you will still see the same number of ads as before.
  7. After clicking "Clear History," you'll be returned to the Off-Facebook Activity screen, where a green banner will appear notifying you that your Facebook activity has been cleared.
