Rami Beracha's tense past
Rami Beracha
Even though it appears that Rami Beracha succeeds in everything that he has chosen to pursue, his life was not always easy. Beracha was only a teenager when he was drafted into the army. He served as a combat soldier with the Paratrooper's Brigade during the Lebanon War. Rami joined a rescue party which was tasked with helping wounded soldiers in a wild minefield in 1983, shortly after the war. Rami was swept into a buried mine and was unable to walk as well as his hand.
His time in the rehabilitation hospital was among the most challenging experiences in his entire life. He was in a state of disarray and unable to move, and eventually fell into depression and despair. The dreams of becoming an officer in the army did not materialize and he lost all sense of self. Rami recuperated from his pain and found the motivation to continue living even if that required him to give his hopes. He determined to be stronger and more efficient than he was prior to the injuries. Rami was able to test out extreme sports. He is now a kitesurfer (and snowboarding) and has been on the mountain of Mount Kilimanjaro. Sometimes, he feels that his unharmed past is pushing forward, even as working to improve.
He donates money and volunteers in many organizations and is extremely passionate about helping young men who, like him suffered injuries in battle. In 2016, Rami led the group of men who suffered injuries during their army service during a visit to Nepal. He was promoted to the rank major within the Israeli paratrooper/fire brigades army by the year 2018. The dreams he had as young people were able to be realized, despite the difficulties he encountered. His passion and life story are an inspiration to others. Rami didn't allow his injuries to hinder himfrom learning and trying new things until he became stronger than ever before.
