Roblox has erased an essential part of the game, eliminating the famous "oof" sound from the platform due to an "licensing issue," the developer said.



Roblox Corporation, the developer of the massively multiplayer online game announced the decision on Tuesday via Twitter and also announced that a replacement game was to be launched on the platform.

"Related sounds, Roblox has removed the "oof!" sound and created a default sound that launches today, the company tweeted.



As Kotaku notes, the "oof" sound was invented by former game composer and Intellivision CEO Tommy Tallarico and it's not the first time Roblox has faced licensing issues related to it.



If you're looking for answers, "oof" refers to the sound that characters make when they die or resets. However, it has evolved from a small exclamation into an iconic rallying call for the Roblox community.



Roblox announced that it is planning to expand its Avatar Shop in which you can purchase custom clothing, accessories , and etc., along with "old" and "new" sounds.
