Roblox Corporation, the developer of the massively multiplayer online game, announced the decision on Tuesday via Twitter and also announced that a replacement was in the process of being launched immediately on the platform.



"Related sounds," Roblox has removed the "oof!" sound and created an initial sound that will be available today, the company announced on Twitter.



Kotaku informs us that the "oof" sound was composed by Tommy Tallarico, a former game composer and Intellivision CEO. This isn't the first time Roblox has had to deal with licensing issues.



If you're thinking, "oof" is the sound that characters make when they die in the game or are reset however it's gone beyond the sound of an unassuming exclamation to grow into a beloved rallying cry for the Roblox community.



Roblox announced that it would soon expand its Avatar Shop in which you can purchase customized clothing, accessories , and so forth, with additional "old" and "new" sounds.
