RV Travel: Why It Rocks
5 min read

Recreational Vehicle usage is up across the USA. It's fun, allows you to travel in style and comfort and probably costs a lot less than you think. Here, we'll talk about why vacationing in an RV is fun and also, something different. We'll also chat about how access to RV's work and how you can travel whenever you want. RV travel is an amazing way to see the world in style and comfort. So long as you plan a great journey with good stop points you can rest easy knowing you have somewhere safe to stay each and every night,

RV travel: Why an RV?

Essentially in an RV you get to go wherever you want in a portable hotel. They come in all manner of sizes and levels of luxury but they all offer the same thing as far as mobility is concerned: the ability to go anywhere and still have somewhere safe and comfortable to sleep at night.

If you're someone that quickly gets bored of staying in the same hotel for weeks at a time then an RV vacation is simply right for you. It allows you to move on quickly. One day you can be in a bustling city and the next, up in the mountains enjoying nature. You can cram in a lot during a RV holiday, usually more than one in a hotel. It gives you the freedom of movement and you'll always be able to move somewhere different if you're not enjoying your current location.

Many are choosing RV holidays to see new sights and go on a slightly different holiday from what's usually offered. So, how can you get your hands on an RV?

RV Rental: The Answer You Need

RV's are expensive. Especially the newer ones with modern features. It can be prohibitive to purchase an RV unless you know you're going to use them week in, week out. Also, a lot of people like the sound of an RV vacation but they don't want to use an RV for every vacation, they wan't to mix it up. As a result, buying one won't make sense. That's why RV rental is a great way to get the best out of an RV holiday but without having to purchase one. RV rental basically includes renting someone elses RV. You might rent an RV from a company or an individual. You just need to make sure the right insurance is in place and that you're renting an RV from a vetted business. You also need to read the small print in any contractual obligations. With that said, RV rental is for sure the best way to experience an RV vacation. If you love it, you can always purchase an RV at a later date anyway, but to test it out consider renting one first.

How To Choose The Right RV

Choosing the right RV can be difficult, especially if the rental agent has a lot on offer. You might initially thnk about renting one of the luxury models on offer. It depends what kind of trip you're going on. If you're spending a lot of time in the RV, then sure, a luxyury one might be right for you and your family. However, if you're looking at a trip where you'll spend most of your time outside and are only using the RV to sleep, you might be better off getting something more rugged. All RV's aren't created equal and you should do some looking around rather than just purchasing the first RV you come across. Think about location, and how much you're going to be inside it. Then you weigh up the cost, as well as the cost of gas and maintenance.

Where To Go In Your RV

You can go wherever you want. The trick is to focus on your RV pickup location. For example, if you want to travel to California, but live in New York, you'd make the rental in California after flying over. Don't rent one in New York unless you want to travel across the whole country. Using this method you can pretty much go wherever you want. The trick is to find somewhere that has a lot of road to burn through, or somewhere with peaceful stop points. Remember, one of the main problems you'll face is parking. You need to park somewhere safe and approved. A lot of parks will have areas dedicated to RV parking, but some won't. Before you settle on an area or location, just make sure you're safe to park first; especially if you're in a larger RV.
