Samsung is prepping itself for the Unpacked event scheduled on the 10th of August. It's a very important event for Samsung because they strongly believe that foldable phones will take over the regular candy bar smartphones. I mean, they canceled the Note lineup for good so that more people are inclined to switch to their foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 will be the highlight of the Unpacked event and a teaser has just been leaked which shows a fleeting glance at the silhouette of the upcoming foldables. Take a look.
The teaser doesn't reveal much, but it gets the message across that the smartphones that can flex, or fold, are superior to those that cannot. And I guess Samsung will play up this aspect in the days leading up to the event. Moving on we also have the official renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in all of its glory and if you've been following the channel then these shouldn't be surprising. But it does give you a better look at all the color options we're going to get with the handset. Now coming to the prices. A couple of days ago we saw a European pricing listing that showed a marginal increase in prices for both the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4. To be specific, a 30 Euro increase in price for the Z Flip 4 while it's 50 Euros for the Z Fold 4.
Now, it's possible these are just placeholders, I personally think that the prices would remain the same as last year. But now, we have an interesting price leak for the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro where it shows that the new smartwatches are going to be cheaper than last year. To be specific, the 40mm Watch 5 will start at 260 Euros, 287 for the 44mm variant, and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has a €430.89 price tag. This is around 10 euros cheaper than last year's Galaxy Watch 4. We don't have a direct successor to the Watch 4 classic so comparing the Classic with the Pro doesn't make much sense. Again keep in mind that these prices may not be precise, but you get an idea, you can paint a general picture of what to expect as far as the price is concerned. And you can pretty much expect the same prices as last for all the devices that Samsung is launching at the Unpacked Event.
