As the weekend creeps right around the corner, it's always a great idea to plan a girl's night out with the besties! There are tons of things you can do during the evenings, may it be going out for dinner, having wine, getting ice cream, going shopping, watching a movie or a play or even going partying!

But although all these may seem super fun, it’s still essential to keep your guard up when roaming the streets at night with your girls. So to help you out, we listed ways to keep you safe during your girl's night out! All these tips can ensure you a worry-free night filled with nothing but fun and laughter!

1 - Share your plans

Tell people you trust about your plans for the night. You could also update them when you leave a venue or change your plans. This is to make sure someone knows your whereabouts throughout the night. You can also share your location with friends and family through your desired mobile app.

2 - Stay in a group

During your night out, consider staying in a group or in pairs at all costs. This is to make sure nothing happens to one another when left alone. So whether it’s going to the comfort room, going to the bar, grabbing extra napkins and so on, always have someone with you.

A great way to ensure everyone follows this tip is to consider creating a “buddy system.” This will make sure everyone is responsible for their “buddy” throughout the night.

3 - Go to reputable places

When picking out a place to go for your girl’s night out, consider picking out a reputable place. So pick out a well-known venue that’s known to be safe. You can check out reviews about the place online or even ask for recommendations from other friends and family.

Choosing a safe place to go for your night out is essential and plays a huge role in ensuring everyone’s safety.

4 - Get an accommodation

If you’re planning to go for drinks and have a crazy night drinking out, consider getting accommodation near the place you’re having drinks at. There are tons of accommodations to consider such as motels, hotels, inns and if you’re with a big group, a serviced apartment. This way, everyone is safe at the end of the night. Rather than separately going home.

5 - Drink responsibly!

If you decide to drink, make sure you do it in moderation. Recognise your limits and drink water to keep hydrated in between alcoholic beverages. Avoid leaving your drink alone and use caution while receiving beverages from strangers.

6 - Have a plan set when emergencies arise

If you're not in an area you’re familiar with, be aware of the location of the closest police station, hospital and emergency clinics. Keeping a list of emergency contacts handy is also a smart idea to consider.

7 - Have self-defence tools in your purse

There are now tons of handy self-defence tools to consider bringing with you on your night out. You can consider getting a mini taser, mini pepper spray, tactical pens, key chain strikers, knuckle strikers and many more. Some come in cute colors and designs so they won’t seem like they’re self-defence tools at all.

8 - Keep a close eye on your belongings

Always keep a watch on your belongings during a night out. So keep an eye on your wallet, pocketbook, phone and other personal belongings you’ve brought with you. To keep your valuables safe, think about using a tiny backpack or a crossbody bag.

9 - Save your phone battery

Although night outs are meant for good memories and great pictures and videos, make sure to always save your phone’s battery. So before leaving your home, make sure your phone is fully charged. Also, consider bringing a portable power bank with you in case your phone’s battery dies out.

10 - Plan your transportation plans

If ever you do decide to go home after a night out, make sure you already have a transportation plan. It’s best to do this in advance, rather than doing this last minute. You can try out rideshare apps, hire a personal driver for the night and even have someone you trust to pick you up after.
