In my experience, refrigerator problems rarely emerge if you take good care of it all the time. However, this does not mean that your fridge will be completely immune to problems. Sooner or later, you will have to deal with a few refrigerator problems.

Here are some of the common problems and their solutions:

  1. Fridge odor remover

Know the origin of the smell. If you have left-over foods that have gone rancid, you have to remove them immediately. Make sure you regularly inspect your fridge for the items you need to dispose. This will give you more space for new food and will keep this appliance fresh and clean all the time.

You can use charcoal air purifier bag to absorb odor. Just place a few pieces of charcoal in a bowl and place the bowl inside the machine. Charcoal works well in purifying the air inside the fridge. This is also a good way of removing bacteria that might have contaminated the inside of your fridge.

  1. Noisy refrigerator

If your appliance suddenly became noisy, you would want to inspect the condenser coils. It could be working harder to exhaust hot air. If the condenser coils are not clean, they cannot dispel hot air easily.

You have to regularly clean the coils using a small vacuum cleaner. This will help remove accumulated dust and dirt around the condenser. It will help the machine work better in expelling hot air. You would also want to leave about 2 inches of space in between the wall and the back of the machine. This will prevent hot air from being insulated at the back of the machine.

  1. Leaky washer

Leaky washer problem happens due to the clogged tubes of the machine. The tubes are used to dispel excess water inside the machine. This excess water goes directly to the drain pain found at the bottom part of the refrigerator.

You would want to unclog the tube first. Unplug the machine and open the freezer door. You should allow ice to melt inside the tubes. Try pouring warm water in the hole found inside the freezer. This will melt ice inside the tubes. You can also use a hair dryer to defrost ice. Once you have solved this problem, you can remove the drain pan and dispose its contents. Clean the drain pan using soapy water and wipe it dry before installing it back in the fridge.
