Technoblade: Minecraft YouTuber dies from cancer at the age of 23

YouTuber for Minecraft Technoblade has died at the age of 23. His family have confirmed the news in a poignant goodbye video that was posted on behalf of him.



The video, which was titled "solong nerds" was shared to his 10 million followers and showed his father saying that he was "the best kid anyone could ever ask for".



The US internet star became famous for streaming live and uploading videos of his playing the videogame sandbox.



Technoblade announced to his fans last year that he had been diagnosed with cancer.



His father read his farewell message hours before his death. It began with "Hello everyone, Technoblade here." This is what you should be seeing. I am dead."



He then revealed that his real name was Alex. He also recalled the moment he tricked viewers into believing his name to be Dave.



"Thank you all for your support of my content throughout the years," he continued. "If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade each time because those were the most joyful years of my life."



The online star, who took home Minecraft tournaments and had a throng of fans talking about him in a funny way while playing the game, explained in a fundraising video that he had received chemotherapy, radiation therapy and a limb rescue operation after he developed a painful tumour.



He died of sarcoma, which is an uncommon bone and soft tissue cancer.



In August 2021, he announced his diagnosis of cancer. He said that he initially believed the discomfort it was causing was caused by an injury to the muscles due to playing too much. When his arm began to swell, he went to hospital and was diagnosed with cancer.

Little is known about Technoblade, who kept his identity secret until the very end. His online avatar was a photograph of an crown-crowned porker.



He has 10.8 million users on his YouTube channel, and he bio reads: "I play video games too much. It's possible that I'm not the best but I do have hot elbows."



'Strategizing in heaven'



In the wake of news of his death the gamers, fans and YouTubers paid tribute on the internet.



"I'll never forget the day I met Technoblade," recalled J Schlatt. "I got up early to play in a Minecraft tournament with him. I didn't know how to play... but the dude was able to get us through the whole event.



"Rest in peace, big guy. You'll be a legend for the rest of your life."



YouTuber Captain Puffy also known as Cara, tweeted: "Rest In Peace Technoblade. He always treated me with pure kindness. I was never denied from anything." He couldn't have been more generous!"



She said, "Thanks for everything you have done for this community. It will never be the same without you."



Tommy Innit stated that "Technoblade" is an icon. I can't express how thankful I am to be a part of his life from being a huge fan to one of his closest friends. I am sure he is working in heaven to overcome God ...".



Ludwig Ahgren added, "I've been watching Technoblade's shows for more than an hour." "He was so funny, so humble even in the most difficult of circumstances. I'll always be inspired by him."



Quackity also expressed his appreciation online, writing: "I had to have the opportunity to share how much respect I have for Technoblade not just for his immense impact on us all as well as his incredible humour even in the darkest hours." I will miss him so much."



"May the man rest in peace,"added eSports gamer Jake Lucky.



Technoblade's father thanked his fans in the goodbye video, noting that "you were a huge part of our lives"



He explained that a percentage of the proceeds from online purchases for the merchandise of his son's passing will now go to charities.



The video ended with a written statement from his family, which included the following: "We, the family of Technoblade, wanted you to know just how much he adored and respected his fans and coworkers.



Technoblade was active since the beginning of his career. He was always trying to find ways to delight and reward his followers. He offered prizes online, encouraged good sportsmanship, and shared his Minecraft adventures for laughs and entertainment.



"Even after his successes he somehow managed to keep his good-natured humour, and compete with a charming balance of confidence and self-deprecating humor."



Minecraft lets players create their own an imaginative virtual landscape, by digging holes to gather blocks.



Recent updates to the game have been used by youngsters to improve their skills in the workplace, and to solve real-world problems like flooding.



Ted Nevison described Technoblade as being "effortlessly hilarious" and "endlessly talented". He said, "Gone too quickly."



Bad Boy Halo also paid their tributes by stating: "Words cannot express how you'll miss. The lives you have touched and the impact you made on their lives will be cherished for the rest of time.



Slimecicle said Technoblade's "personality and sense of humour were a true inspiration to me and countless others."



"Thanks for all you have done to make this the world a better place You will always be a legend."
