If you don't want hands to be held, there's no better choice than NordVPN(opens in a new tab) is a Panama-based service with an unbeatable array of top-notch security features. Games Highlights include a Double VPN tool that encrypts your data twice; Obfuscated Servers(opens in a new tab) which conceal that you're using a VPN; the Threat Protection(opens in new tab) feature (formerly known as CyberSec) which protects you against malware, web trackers, dangerous websites, and annoying ads; and an Onion Over VPN tool that offers additional protection when you're connected to the Onion network (while removing the need for a separate Tor browser(opens in new tab)). It is possible to add additional features such as an IP address with a specific address (opens up in a separate tab) cloud storage (opens up in a separate tab) and a data breach scanner (opens up in a separate tab) and a password manager (opens up in a brand-new tab) as an add-on to your plan. However these add-ons can be costly.

Supported platforms: Windows and Mac, Android, iOS and Linux, Chromebook Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Android TV Stick, Chromecast Chromecast, Chromecast, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromebook, Chromecast, Chromecast, Kindle.

Note: NordVPN was the victim of an attack on security in March 2018. A hacker gained access to an insecure remote management system in an Finnish data centre , from which it was renting servers. Fortunately, this incident was only a problem for one NordVPN server, which contained between 50 and 200 users at the time, and didn't affect any user traffic logs. (Such information was not even available in the first place, since NordVPN follows a strict no-logging policy.) NordVPN claims that it was not informed of the breach until April 2019. The company made the news public in October. It acknowledged that it "should've done more to filter out insecure servers providers and to ensure the security and privacy of our customers." NordVPN has since revoked its contract and conducted an "independent audit" of its entire infrastructure. It also passed two third-party inspections of its no log policy.

At the end of the day, trust is paramount when it is used to use an VPN and we'd not suggest you steer clear of NordVPN because of this incident, particularly since the company wasn't immediately transparent to its customers when it became aware of the attack. We would still recommend it as a provider, even though the breach caused only a few negative consequences. It's more akin to a hack than it really was because the media outlets have proclaimed it to be hacks. It's important to note that NordVPN's willingness and support for third-party audits are huge.
