Men Should Not Be Expected to Cover Their Heads in Public
Men are not allowed to cover their hair while in Ihram. Several Islamic laws and practices forbid men from doing Umrah while wearing a head covering of any kind, including a hat. Seeing as how males are not allowed to hide their hair in public, some of them may feel pressured to do so. However, it is very inappropriate to cover one's head during this mandatory ritual. It Is Forbidden for Men to Sew the Ihram
If a man wears the Ihram, he must not have any holes or repairs made to it. It is also against the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for men to have shoes made specifically for their feet. The footwear should be slightly large in size. The Ihram is never to be stitched, but rather wrapped tightly around the wearer. Men should wear shoes that show off their toes and heels, but shoes that cover the entire foot are not permitted. If a man wears Ihram and feels that it does not sufficiently cover his body, he may use a belt to do so without violating Islamic law.
