Yes, the image above is an actual map created in Minecraft. It's part of a huge, realistic terrain project that offers 16 square kilometers of diverse topography for you to build your own on. It's a gorgeous collection of deserts mountains, swamps, and forests that you can download and use as a backdrop for your own Minecraft designs.

The map is called Kythor and was created by Qwryzu with the help of World Machine and World Painter. It took around two months to complete. MINECRAFT-CRAFTING "I deliberately designed this map with huge open spaces to build," qwryzu explains. "Specifically, I made it with mods (shoutout to Immersive Railroading group). Although it isn't the most detailed map I have ever created, I do hope it can serve as a backdrop for large-scale builds.

You can download the map for yourself over on Planet Minecraft. It's available for Java Edition, and while it was developed in 1.12.2, it should be compatible with any version currently in use - although qwryzu isn't sure whether the changes in world height in 1.17 could cause problems.

Seriously but, just take a look at this thing.

After 2 months of hard work, qwryzu has created their most precise map. It has four continents that have lakes and mountains as well as deserts. They purposefully made this map with large open spaces for building #Minecraft #TerrainTuesday FREE download below!
