Ubisoft confirms Far Cry 6 will be released on October 7 without a few gameplay elements

The developers of the Far Cry series, Ubisoft, stated that Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine had been delayed due to the Coronavirus-led pandemic, which was originally scheduled to release in February 2021. Later, the supposed release date of the game was leaked on the Microsoft Store. According to sources, Ubisoft has confirmed the official release date for the highly anticipated Far Cry 6.

Developers from Ubisoft joined on Reddit for an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, where they answered questions from fans. The devs revealed several exciting features about their future Far Cry game, including the game's release date, during the session. As a result, Far Cry 6 will be released on October 7th. Some gaming aspects, however, will not be available at launch.

Far Cry has always been about guerilla fantasies and taking back control of a territory by demolishing fascist rulers. This section has the same essence as the previous one, but a lot of it is fresh new.

One such example is the absence of two of the most popular features, the map editor and arcade mode, this time around. The choice to cut them off was not easy, according to Alexandra Letendre, the game's Game Director. At the same time, this allowed them to concentrate on the primary campaign, giving the player a strong sense of being in the thick of the guerilla revolution.

Another omission that may upset fans is the absence of Hurk Drubman Jr, a character who has appeared in every Far Cry game since Far Cry 3. The developers believe that this character does not match in the context of the mythical island of Yara, and that they should instead focus on characters from that region.

Takedowns will be back in FC 6, but this time with improved and polished animations. Animal companions, speaking about comebacks, have made a comeback as well. Guapo, a man-eating alligator, and Chorizo, a little dog that can distract opponents during stealth runs, were both seen in the official gameplay clip. You may see the video down below. If you want to avoid staring at the countdown timer, jump until 29:47.

Other new features include storyline progression options. This time, unlike the previous instalments, the game will not be totally played in first-person. When Dani Rojas (the main playable character) visits guerilla camps, the game will switch to the third-person mode for specific moments in combat.

Far Cry 6 will be released on October 7 unless it is postponed again, as previously said. On PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna, it will be available.
