Introduction
Noida is a planned city in India that forms a part of the National Capital Region (NCR). It is situated in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh state and is a part of Greater Noida. The city was created under the UP Industrial Area Development Act by the then state chief minister, Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, in 1976. Noida is located in the southeastern part of Uttar Pradesh, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southeast of central Delhi and 45 kilometres (28 mi) northwest of Agra.
