In recent years, colloidal silver supplement have gained popularity as an alternative to conventional antibiotics. It served a purpose before antibiotics were commonplace. Ionic silver, silver proteins, silver colloids, and ionic silver compounds are all types of colloidal silver. Although this supplement could provide some health benefits, it also comes with the risk of causing unwanted side effects.

As a result of its antiseptic properties, colloidal silver has been used to treat a wide range of ailments, including burns, skin infections, and other open wounds. In developing nations, it serves multiple purposes, such as a wound bandage and water disinfectant. Corns and warts are also treated with silver nitrate. Daily doses are typically between one teaspoon and two tablespoons. The concentrations range from 10 ppm to 120 ppm, and both extremes are common. The higher the silver concentration, the darker the solution. Parasites, bacteria, viruses, and fungi can all be killed with the correct dose. Throughout the fall and winter, it sees a surge in demand as a nasal spray, pill, liquid, or lozenges to combat colds and flu.

It's possible that the risks associated with oral use outweigh any potential advantages. Toxic levels of silver have been linked to headaches, kidney damage, seizures, skin problems, exhaustion, and stomach upset. Argyria, a disorder characterised by blue skin, is an unwelcome external side effect of silver overexposure.

Yet, there are many who think the benefits of these supplements exceed the hazards due to their antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic properties. It has the potential to prevent and treat a wide variety of infectious diseases. It has been suggested that it can be used to combat harmful germs like Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (Staph and Strep). It can be sprayed on after a shave to soothe razor burn and there is some evidence that it can assist with dyspepsia as well.

Although there are many guides and videos available for manufacturing your own colloidal silver, it may be safer to purchase it from a trustworthy company. Carefully following the instructions for use will yield the greatest results. Because of the potential for colloidal silver to interact with other medications, it is important that your doctor be aware that you are taking it.
