As you probably know, on the night of May 12, the grand final of one of the most popular international competitions, Eurovision 2024, ended. At first glance, the event did not foretell anything unusual. But, nevertheless, there is something to talk about here. So, for example, there was a scandal, an unexpected victory and other adventures. As always, you will learn the details with us in the next couple of minutes.
Eurovision 2024
It's no secret that Eurovision 2024 was held in Malmo, Sweden. After all, last year the representative of this particular country, Loreen, won with the song Tattoo. It is curious that for the singer this became the second prize in this competition. You see, back in 2012 she won with the song Euphoria. Alas, the representatives of Sweden this year managed to take only 9th place.
Be that as it may, this year there were plenty of contenders for first place. Thus, it is worth noting the speeches of representatives of Ireland, France, Israel, Ukraine and, of course, Croatia. And, curiously, we are talking not only about bright and colorful numbers, but also about emotional songs. In particular, viewers and Internet users were amazed by Baby Lasagna with the song Rim Tim Tagi Dim.

Croatia
It seemed that it was the representative of Croatia who would take the victory to his homeland. After all, his performance was literally filled with drive and energy. And the meaning of the text is incredibly relevant. The fact is that Baby Lasagna decided to touch upon the topic of young Croats forced to leave their homeland in search of better opportunities in other countries. At the same time, what is incredibly interesting is that we might not have enjoyed the hit Rim Tim Tagi Dim at all and not even seen it in second place.
The fact is that Baby Lasagna was initially positioned as a reserve representative of Croatia at Eurovision. In simple words, he had a chance to get into the international competition only if someone refused for some reason. And it seems that fate itself favored our hero. And the number of views of Rim Tim Tagi Dim on the official Eurovision channel on Youtube today is confidently approaching seven million, surpassing the recording of the event’s winner’s performance.
Ukraine
Was represented this year by Jerry Heil & Alyona Alyona with the song Teresa & Maria. The number of views of their performance is equal to the number of views of the winner. It is important to note that initially the bookmakers gave a far from encouraging forecast to the Ukrainians. However, as you can already see, everyone has the right to make mistakes. Therefore, this year the representatives of Ukraine took third place.

Switzerland
But, of course, it is worth talking about the winner of Eurovision 2024. After all, this year the representative of Switzerland Nemo with the song The Code was able to go home with a victory. And, of course, the composition also has a serious message. You see, the artist decided to touch on the topic of non-binary identity. Choosing such a theme is quite simple. The fact is that Nemo himself is a non-binary person, for whom the pronoun “they” is used.
Also, speaking about the Eurovision winner, we can say with confidence that he literally breathes music. He is only 23 years old, but he already boasts popularity in his homeland, playing drums, violin and piano, and writing and producing songs for his colleagues. And at the age of 18, Nemo recorded a platinum single and two mini-albums. So it’s quite easy to find an artist on the Swiss charts.
Disqualification
Of course, one cannot fail to mention the scandalous side of the music competition. Thus, after the second semi-final, the representative of the Netherlands, Joost Klein, was disqualified. The fact is that at the end of his performance, the artist hurried to the green room. One of the photographers wanted to capture this moment. The musician, in turn, made a threatening movement towards the camera in order to nip such attempts in the bud.
According to the performer’s representatives, Jost Klein “repeatedly emphasized that he did not want to be filmed. This requirement was not taken into account. But it didn’t touch the operator.” Be that as it may, the European Broadcasting Community did not want to tolerate such behavior on the part of the Eurovision participant. That’s why he was soon disqualified. A couple of days later, the Dutchman returned home with the team.
