Detailed review ‘F9’: For director Justin Lin, making Fast 9 should have been a left-handed game. After all, he directed the first Fast and the Furious movie. After that, he also directed the 5th and 6th films of this series. It is said that after Fast 9, no more movies will be shot in this series i.e. it will be the last movie and it had to be stunning. The film was released in theaters on May 19, 2021 and was the 5th highest grossing of the year. That’s probably why it took a long time to release it on OTT.Surprisingly, compared to all the other films in this series, this film was considered the weakest. People stormed into theaters to watch all the expensive movies that came out after Covid, so that movie continued as well. Now available on Amazon Prime Video. Don’t expect to watch an action thriller with amazing stunts, you might be disappointed. It doesn’t look like a quick series.
The series was fun to watch until Paul Walker and Vin Diesel and their gang members committed more than one crime, showing off stunts while driving cars through dangerous places. Until the film’s dialogues, people were on their lips. Ironically, Paul Walker died in a car crash that left Fast and the Furious 7 unfinished. After some time, with the help of Paul’s brother, Caleb and Cody, using special effects and computer graphics, the rest of the scenes were completed and the film was released.
The following films such as “The Fate of the Furious”, Fast and Furious Present Hobbs and Shaw and Fast 9, all three films struggle with the lack of Paul Walker. Then the same car chases, explosion scenes, pulling huge vehicles with magnets installed in the car, destroying vehicles on city streets, stunts that mock gravity, everything guaranteed in the Fast and Furious series, is also present. Stephen F. Winden, the cinematographer of nearly every film in The Gray Man and Fast and the Furious series recently released on Netflix, has also taken over the camera this time around. Maybe this time there wasn’t a lot of detail in the action footage and therefore the camera didn’t look amazing. The scene of a car hitting a satellite in space seems ridiculous. The entire crew of approximately 250 people, along with stunt coordinators Andy Gill, Gregory Barnett and Geoffrey Barnett, were involved in the filming of this film.There were some surprising stunts as well, but they were weak compared to previous films in the series. What might have brought some fun here was that the audience got emotionally attached to the stunt, but this time they stayed away from the film. Fast 9 may have done wonders at the box office, but fans of this series will always consider it a weak film. Hopefully something new and big will be seen through Fast 10 because this time the director of Fast 10 is not Justin Louis Leterrier (Clash of the Titan, Transporter, Incredible Hulk etc.).
