YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has died at the age of 23 following a long battle with cancer of stage 4.



The content creator from San Francisco who kept his identity a secret until revealing his name in the final video as "Alex" became famous after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft online in 2013. He then was able to acquire more than 10 million subscribers.



He was diagnosed with stage four cancer in August. He had spent the majority of the past year in a secluded area as he underwent chemotherapy.



While it is not known the type of cancer Alex was suffering from, he went on to raise money for sarcoma charities - and in December he revealed that he had undergone surgery to remove a tumor from his arm.



In a video uploaded to Technoblade's YouTube channel this morning that was titled 'So long nerds', his father, whose name is unknown was able to share the sad news of his son's passing with his many followers, while relaying a posthumous message of condolence from the famous YouTube star.



Calling his son 'the most amazing child', he also shared an audio recording of his son who said"If I had another hundred lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade each time as those were the most wonderful years of my life.'

Technoblade was a very private and never divulged personal details about his life. He mostly posted videos about sandbox game Minecraft.



He was blessed with three sisters younger than him and a brother named Chris, and Floof his dog who starred in his farewell video along with his father.



In one of his videos, he explained that his parents were divorced and that he stayed with his father who owns a movie studio.



After graduating from high school he took a gap year before moving to Chicago to study English.

But he retreated to San Francisco after dropping out.



In one of his videos He explained the process of creating the Tecnoblade channel for the sole purpose of gaining confidence and gaining 10 million subscribers.



He quickly built a large following, sharing multiple clips of him playing Minecraft with them, however He never shared his name or face to the fans.



However in August in August, he announced the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis in a video titled 'Where I've been', which has since been watched 13 million times.



He said he was diagnosed with cancer after he thought there was an injury to his arm.



The content creator (seen left) who had not publicly revealed his identity or name prior to the time his final video was posted was diagnosed with stage four cancer in the last year.



Thinking it was a stress-related injury due to his ongoing playing, he took a few days off - before realizing that it wasn't going away.
