It's time to discover the fashion trends of the upcoming year, as popular brands have already shown them in recent collections. In the new season, designers offer to choose corsets that outline the waist, youthful Y2K style and translucent tight clothes. Luxurious velvet suits, bright prints and colors that increase the attractiveness of evening dresses are also present in brands’ new collections. Today we will take a look at the 12 main clothing trends for 2023.

Comfort Is Still With Us

Ribbed dresses and knitted suits, oversized sweaters and hoodies, elastic leggings, sports joggers, and cargo pants – at first glance unremarkable clothes are in fashion now and remain relevant this season. So, what’s in tendency?

Trend №1: Long skirt suits

Long skirt suits are the perfect way to make a statement in your workwear. If you are a business person, that fit perfectly, so you can feel confident and comfortable every step of the way.

Trend №2: Wide jeans

This model is the most favorite one among customers from all over the world. It has a little stretch and looks great on everyone (even if someone doesn’t realize it!).

Hypersexuality: Tops, Mini, Transparent Femininity

“There is no time to be modest, it's time to show yourself!” — it seems that this phrase can become the motto of fashion trends of 2023. Low waist, mini-skirts, tight silhouettes – the trendy things of the last year — get even bolder reinforcement this year.

Trend №3: Lowered waist

Long-waisted silhouettes were a favorite among designers last season and could be seen on the catwalks of Chanel, Schiaparelli and Dior. Virginie Viard's long skirts were gracefully flared at the hips. At the same time, Daniel Roseberry at Schiaparelli and Olivier Rousteing at Jean Paul Gaultier complemented the shape with vintage cuts layered with taffeta and velvet.

Trend №4: Mesh

This season, designers presented numerous shiny mesh dresses. At Fendi, transparent flesh-colored dresses became the second skin of the models; they were richly decorated with crystals. At Schiaparelli, Daniel Roseberry created meshes of cobalt beads and mother-of-pearl, while Balenciaga featured a structured mesh dress over a black jumpsuit.

Trend №5: Corsets

At Schiaparelli, Daniel Roseberry emphasized the femininity of the corsets with flowers inspired by Christian Lacroix; they blossomed with lavenders, daisies and gerberas from shareware. Olivier Rousteing paid homage to Jean Paul Gaultier's legacy with his own interpretation of the corset and cone bra, while Alexis Mabille celebrated the history of this lingerie with a lace iteration.

Trend №6: The mix of preppy and Y2K style

Whether you like this or not, the Y2K style is not going anywhere, it is present in all shopping marketplaces. This tendency towards short skirts means that the mini will not disappear either. Now, however, short skirts have made friends with the preppy aesthetic and appeared on the catwalks in a modern, youthful version: sporty and tennis. Such as Miu Miu, pleated at Charles Jeffrey, in a punk checkered pattern at Marine Serre, and elegant at Chanel, Halpern, and Oscar de la Renta.

Holiday For Everyday!

There is no sense to postpone bright colors and patterns, keep them “for later” — for a special occasion. Fashion trends of the current year inspire us to wear our favorite precious jewelry, elegant gothic dresses embroidered with diamonds, skirts in sequins, basques and lace overalls every day. To make it appropriate and look especially stylish, we suggest combining such festive products with a basic wardrobe.

Trend №7: Gothic dresses

This season in Paris and Rome there were a lot of transparent black clothes. After the parade of pink and emerald tweeds, Virginie Viard presented several black dresses. They appeared on the catwalk with puffed sleeves and high necks. Similar Victorian features were repeated by Dior and emphasized the dark shade with intricate and sophisticated embroidery. Valentino and Armani Privé also had their share of inky sheer dresses.

Trend №8: Basque

Daniel Roseberry opened the Haute Couture Week with a tribute to the 1980s and combined the heritage of the fashion house, Schiaparelli, with voluminous sleeves and loose silhouettes. The main element of his collection was a basque that protruded on the hips. Subsequently, the same was demonstrated by Valentino, Armani Privé, Ronald Van Der Kemp, and Jean Paul Gaultier.

We Need More Color!

Abstract geometric patterns, floral and animal prints, contrasting colors, monochrome and flashy “logomania” will be fashionable this year. The Versace, Stella McCartney, Jacquemus and Zimmermann collections always pay special attention to colors and prints. Creating a full-fledged accent image that will catch the eye with its richness and complementarity is a trend.

Trend №9: Galactic Cobalt

The modern space-centered era will also cause the popularity of a new hyper-bright shade of blue. Influenced by new technologies, Galactic Cobalt creates a sense of “escape from reality and expanded reality,” but it can also be used in different ways.

Trend №10: The shade of sage leaves

Green Sage Leaf provides a respite from the world of technology. The pandemic has brought back hobbies such as gardening, baking and hand sewing, and these neglected activities are expected to stimulate a slower lifestyle.

Trend №11: Crushed apricot

The appearance of Juicy Apricot Crush in the line proves that color can be both joyful and nourishing. Described as “a shade containing vitamins,” the mid-tone orange is a “fruity injection of the season's energy.”

Trend №12: Digital lavender

Digital Lavender, a calm shade of purple that was previously named the color of the year 2023, compliments the color palette. This balancing property is key, as the color becomes a staple for mental health products and inclusive design.
