A Quick Brief About Keratin Treatment
2 min read

We all have heard the word keratin and it is the protein that helps to strengthen our hair and protects it from the breakage. Today many modern shampoos advertise themselves as they have enough keratin content to add more strength to the hair. Some salons are also offering keratin treatment so that people can flaunt their long and strong hair. Keratin is also important to manage frizz and reduce heat damage in the hair. Unquestionably, keratin is vital for maintaining strong and healthy hair.

However, some salon treatments are promising silky-smooth hair with their keratin treatments, but in many cases, it is turning the opposite. The treatment has been attached with many other health concerns.

What is keratin treatment?

Keratin is a simple structural protein found in our hair, nails, and skin. It is also commonly found in styling products to help strengthen the hair, but honestly, the term keratin is nothing but a misnomer. In reality, the keratin treatments are semi-permanent treatments for hair straightening adding more shine to the frizzy hair. The treatment doesn’t work through the use of keratin. To turn the hair straight, salons are using a solution containing a formaldehyde derivative or glyoxylic acid through the hair to break the bond and reseal them in the desired position.

Later the hair is blow-dried and sealed with an ironing rod, and the results will last from three to six months. If you are planning to take a keratin treatment here, talk to our experts now.
