Alex Kime and his daughter Gretchen founded Alaska Horsemen Trail Adventures in 1997 in Cooper Landing. Having explored the Kenai Peninsula on horseback for over three decades, Alex Kime brings a wealth of experience to the venture. Their services include guiding and packing across the Chugach National Forest and Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Relocating to Alaska from Oregon in 1963 at 12, Alex witnessed the Great Alaska Earthquake the following year. In the 1970s, he was a truck driver on the Haul Road and contributed to the construction of the Great Alaska Pipeline to Prudhoe Bay. The 1980s saw him purchasing his first horse, Cyrano, with whom he delved into the backcountry of the Kenai Mountains.

Our cozy Alaskan wood cabins and wall tent cabins make for a comfortable and memorable glamping experience. Folks mention often the serenity they experience at our small ranch. Our cabins and wall tents can sleep around 20 people.
There are tents and campsites for another 20. There is a spacious area for RV parking, all with mountain views. Our location, on the east end of Cooper Landing, is within walking distance of good fishing Quartz Creek, the Kenai Beach, Quartz Creek Campground, and the Sunrise Inn Café and lounge. We often watch sheep and goats on nearby Mt. Langille while sitting around the fire pit at the Pavilion. A truly unique and serene experience in an Alaskan pioneer setting.
