Mussoorie

The "Queen of the Hills," which was founded in the Himalayan foothills by a British Army commander in 1820, stands out from the competition due to its dense forests, pleasant climate, and Doon Valley vistas. Its name comes from the many, berry-covered Mansur shrubs that may be found close to this trekker-friendly region. The food and architecture still bear traces of its colonial heritage. Visit the two highest summits, Gun Hill or Childer's Lodge, or the well-known Kempty waterfall for breathtaking natural scenery. The city's historic hotels and churches are examples of the British influences still there. The Mall (also known as the Mall Road), a gently sloping street lined with restaurants and other businesses, is one of the most well-liked tourist destinations in Mussoorie. The architecture of even the lampposts and the small buildings dotting the region give off an unique colonial air, as does The Mall.
