Itinerary of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Tour from Kathmandu
We have broken down the itinerary on a per-day basis, rather than a point-covering basis for the ease of comprehension for you.
Arrive at Kathmandu Airport on Day 1
You will arrange for a flight and arrive at Kathmandu Airport. There, our staff will welcome you for the journey. Then, we will take you to a hotel after lunch. Thereafter, we will proceed to Pashupatinath, Laxmi Narayan, and other temples for darshan purposes. Our stay hotel will be either Shangrila or Marriott.
Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj on Day 2
Here, we will begin with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Then, we will fly to Nepalgunj in a one-hour flight. From there, our team will pick up you from Nepalgunj airport and take you to our hotel, either Sollte or Sygnet.
From Nepalgunj to Simikot to Hilsa on Day 3
Early in the morning, we will drive you to Nepalganj Airport and catch the flight to Simikot. We will then rest for a few hours at Simikot and fly again to Hilsa by helicopter. At Hilsa, we will wait for another group to reach and then drive with them to Purang to stay overnight at the hotel. It will take 40-50 minutes for a flight to take you from Nepalganj to Simikot. The helicopter ride will be 10-20 minutes from Simikot to Hilsa.
Acclimatize to Purang’s weather on Day 4
Here, you can take an entire day free for acclimatization and a short trek to prepare for Mount Kailash Parikrama.
Get from Purang to Mansarovar Lake on Day 05
After breakfast, we will drive you to Mansarovar Lake. From there, we will begin the Parikrama of Mansarovar Lake approximately 105 kilometers. Here, Take a holy bath and perform the Puja at the Lake Mansarovar. Stay at the Guest House near Lake Mansarovar for the night. You can also visit Lake Mansarovar in the early morning or Brahma Muhurta to witness the divinity of the place.
Descend from Mansarovar to Darchen on Day 06
From Lake Mansarovar, we will get to Darchen, the base for Kailash Parikrama as well as Ashthapad darshan. You can visit Asthapad if the Chinese authorities permit us.
Day 1 of Mount Kailash Parikrama on Day 7
Early in the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Yamdwar and then trek to Dirapuk ( 10 KMS first day Parikrama). You get blessed with the darshan of North Face of Mount Kailash during the first day of Parikrama which is considered to be most auspicious. Those who are not doing Parikrama will travel from Yamdwar to Darchen for approx. 30 minutes and stay there in the Guest House for 2 nights. You can see & pray to Mount Kailash from Darchen.
Day 2 of Mount Kailash Parikrama on Day 8
In the morning, you can start a trek from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass to Zuthulpuk. The Total trek is 22 km and is the most difficult part of the journey throughout the yatra. You have to trek up to the 18,600-foot height above sea level. From Doma La Pass, you will then descend to Gauri Kund and trek along to Zuthulpuk. In the night, you will stay at a Lodge or a Guest House.
Drive to Purang on Day 9
On this day, the Parikrama will be 8 km and around 3 hours in duration. After this short trek, you will be driven to Darchen and then to Purang. Stay overnight at a Guest House.
From Hilsa to Nepalganj to Kathmandu on Day 10
On this day, you will drive to Hilsa and then fly back to Simikot by Helicopter and to Nepalgunj by flight. Finally, you will fly to Kathmandu. In the night, you will stay at the Shankar Hotel or the Hotel Royal Singi.
Leave Kathmandu on Day 11
After breakfast, we will free you to proceed to your home with the blessings of Mahadeva.
